One of the things that bothered me most about the sacrifice of Aslan was how emotionless the girls seemed. I think the scene would have been far more powerful if they had followed the book in that the girls wept through the whole night. They did not sleep because they felt to sad, wretched, and miserable to sleep. That's the kind of affect the Aslan had on them. I think their reaction of falling asleep showed how much they were affected by Aslan's death, which compared to the book wasn't much. What is anyone else's opinion on this?
